VISION OF THE FUTURE
FINAL VIDEO

My Ride (Ride-Hailing App)

In this personal project, I explore a potential customer's experience with the future of transportation (TaaS), for a company developing a ride-hailing phone app.

I created the script, storyboards, animatic, design and animation.

Please see my pre-production process below this video.

THE PROCESS

VISION OF THE FUTURE
STORYBOARD PHASE

Well before any animation is started, very rough frames are hand drawn for a particular customer narrative or story. These rough frames will make up an entire storyboard from start to finish. This process is very iterative and many changes, tweaks and different ideas are roughly mapped out and considered.

Everything at this point, including the script, content and composition of the frames, is subject to change and fine tuning. By the end of the storyboard stage, the script, visual content and storyline are pretty much locked down.

VISION OF THE FUTURE
ANIMATIC PHASE

Once the script, content of the frames and story are locked, things progress to the next stage: The animatic.

An animatic is really a rough, test animation, with temp audio/narration. This allows the viewer(s) to see the overall pacing of all the storyboard frames and see how well the audio/narration syncs up with the pacing of the individual frames.

Once the animatic is working, it is time to create the final version of the video incorporating either low or high-fidelity illustrations and animation.
